Activation Tech Lead, U.S. Oncology Customer Engagement

The Opportunity

We are looking for a hands-on Activation Tech Lead to drive the technical execution of our U.S. Oncology digital engagement tools. In this role, you’ll be the "engine room" of our digital transformation, focusing on the build and maintenance of a seamless, data-driven experience for healthcare providers (HCPs) and patients. You will work closely with the Activation Engineering Lead to turn global platform blueprints into high-performing, local solutions that ensure life-saving treatments reach the right people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hands-on Implementation: Lead the technical build-out and day-to-day optimization of Salesforce Life Science Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and Data Cloud.

  • AI & Automation Execution: Support the deployment of Agentforce pilots to automate customer interactions and boost field force productivity.

  • Omnichannel Delivery: Execute the technical strategy for omnichannel journeys, ensuring Data Cloud triggers real-time, personalized actions for field reps in the CRM.

  • Integration Building: Develop and maintain API-first and event-driven integrations between Salesforce and oncology-specific data sources like claims and EHR feeds.

  • Squad Mentorship: Lead a squad of engineers through daily Scrum/Kanban activities, conducting code reviews and enforcing DevSecOps standards (CI/CD, automated testing).

  • Vendor Quality Control: Review technical deliverables from external partners to ensure they meet our internal architectural principles and code quality expectations.

Required Skiils & Qualifications-

Education / Experience

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience in CRM or related Customer Engagement processes. 

Salesforce Expertise

Deep technical experience with Veeva CRM and/or Salesforce Life Science Cloud, specifically configuring Data Cloud and Marketing Cloud.

Integration Skills

Proficiency in RESTful API design and Event-Driven Architecture (EDA) using tools like MuleSoft or Kafka.

Agile Leadership

Proven experience leading engineering squads, managing technical debt, and driving GitFlow and CI/CD pipelines.

Technical Influence

Ability to explain technical trade-offs to IT partners and translate business requirements into technical designs.

Preferred Skills

Emerging AI

Hands-on experience or certifications in Salesforce Agentforce or building autonomous agents using Large Language Models (LLMs) and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation).

Domain Knowledge

Deep understanding of U.S. Oncology (HIPAA, claims data, EHR models, and regulatory considerations).

Cloud Architecture

Proficiency in AWS or Azure cloud services, specifically for serverless computing (Lambda/Functions) or data warehousing (Snowflake).

Vendor Management

Experience managing "Managed Services" or System Integrator (SI) partners to ensure code quality and adherence to architectural blueprints.

Location: Gaithersburg, MD

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $127,000 to $191,000. Our positions offer eligibility for various incentives—an opportunity to receive short-term incentive bonuses, equity-based awards for salaried roles and commissions for sales roles. Benefits offered include qualified retirement programs, paid time off (i.e., vacation, holiday, and leaves), as well as health, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
